Meine Empfehlung:
Motul X-Clean 8100: Klick! (offizieller Händler!)

Alternativen (nach Preis geordnet):
Petronas Syntium 3000 AV: Klick-01 oder Klick-02
Valvoline SynPower MST: Klick!
Ravenol RUP: Klick!

Hello everybody

This is my first post after almost two years of being a member of the forum. I live in Scotland and own a modified Bora 4 Motion with a 3.2 BFH with Schrick cams, manifold, sports cats etc.

In 2015 I replaced the chains at 138,000 miles as poor values were recorded in MWB 208 and 209 (-7 and -4).

During the replacement I was shocked to see black sludge underneath the NW cover but at that time I did not understand the cause was LL oil - see attached photos of black mud on cylinder head. I cleaned the chain case and NW covers before refitting.

Oil changes from 100,000 miles were performed every 5,000 miles using LL3 but I cannot remember the previous service history to 100,000 miles - I would need to check my records.

From 138.000 miles to 175.000 miles were driven on LL3 Oil at 5000 mile changes all with oil flush.

Thankfully MWB 208 and 209 values are currently still -3 and -2.

I discovered this forum in 2016 and finally discovered the truth that LL Oil was responsible for the black sludge and after lots of reading on why the chains stretch I decided to change from LL3 to Super Addinol Light.

At the last oil service I performed an oil cleaning flush using Liqui Moly Pro Line Engine Flush (It is very difficult to get Lambda Oil Primer in the UK) and switched to Addinol Super Light 5w-40.

I have bought some Addinol Flushing Oil and some Lambda Oil Primer from the Forum Shop and have 14.5L of Addinol Super Light at my disposal.

However, I am concerned that too strong an oil rinse will cause oil pump blockage and seek advice from the forum on the best way forward/procedure.

I've now driven 1600 Miles on the Addinol which is now a dark honey color and wish to oil flush/rinse.

I think I should drain 2.5l of used oil and refill 2.5l with fresh Addinol SL 5W40 (This uses up my extra Addinol and after two changes below leaves 1l extra for emergency)
Drive vehicle until engine oil is hot and then add Addinol Flushing Oil.
Run on stationary idle for 10 minutes and then drain Oil for 20 minutes.
Change filter and refill with 5.5l of fresh Addinol.
Drive vehicle until engine oil is hot.
Add Lambda Oil Primer and run on stationary idle for 15 minutes - but no driving as not sure how bad black contamination will be?
Drain oil for 20 minutes
Add fresh Addinol, new filter and drive 1500-2000 miles and then flush again with Lambda Oil Primer?

I hope that I have been able to help you. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

There's no reason to be afraid of problems with this procedure and the recommended products in this forum. A lot of users including myself have done the whole procedure with the Addinol Flushing Oil und Lambda Oil Primer products and nothing bad happened yet - in fact, every user is totally convinced so far because of very good results.

You really should drive around with the Lambda Oil Primer, because running the engine on stationary idle is not bad, but also not as effective as driving around. Driving around is the key for a good engine cleaning and since the Lambda Oil Primer has lubricating additives and is not very aggressive you don't have to be afraid to damage the engine.

My recommendation and the way I do it myself:

-> oil change with filter and ASL0540
-> drive at least for 2.000 km (1250 miles) to absorb coarse dirt
-> drive vehicle until engine oil is hot
-> add Addinol Flushing Oil and let it run on stationary idle for 10 minutes
-> immediately after that: drain the hot oil for a long time
-> oil change with filter and ASL0540
-> drive vehicle until fresh oil is hot
-> add Lambda Oil Primer and let it run on stationary idle for 10 minutes
-> immediately after that: drain the hot oil for a long time
-> oil change with filter and ASL0540
-> drive vehicle until fresh oil is hot
-> add Lambda Oil Primer and drive around for about 30-50 km (19-32 miles) with various engine load (also full load!), preferably varying routes (motorways, country roads and city)
-> immediately after that: drain the hot oil for a long time
-> oil change with filter and ASL0540
-> flushing trip: drive around for at least 20 km (12,5 miles) to absorb and get out all the remains of grime and flushing products
-> final oil change with filter and ASL0540
-> be happy

Best wishes
Casey

Well I'd like to report some good news.

I performed the Addinol Flushing Oil on ASL 05W40 that had been driven 2000 miles. The ASL was already starting to darken from cleaning. After the flush the oil came out almost black!

I then refilled with new ASL 05W40 and the 3.2 BFH was already much quieter than before. 8) I then drove 1200 more miles on the new oil and at the weekend filled with 250ml of Lambda Oil Primer and drove 50Km of varying roads. The oil came out a dark honey colour and still appeared to be relatively clean. After changing the oil the car is very smooth and when I open the bonnet ALL I can hear are injectors ticking - there is absolutely zero noise from the chain case! I am so happy with the result. Many thanks for all your support. :D

Hello everyone - happy weekend!

I have a friend who is working on a W12 Which has no reading at MET for chain values on one bench.

It has traveled 136TM on Long Life Oil and very noisy :O(

He wishes to try flushing the engine before replacing the chains and tensioners.

Given the oil capacity is huge at 12 liters can I have some advice or would it be best to perform the Following?

drain off 1 liter of
oil up to temperature
2x500ml of Addinol flushing oil
idle engine for 15 minutes.
drain oil.
new oil (11 Litres) and filter
Drive up to temperature
4x250ml of Lambda Oil Primer
30-50Km etc
new oil (11l) and filter
4x250ml of lambda oil primer and again drive 30-50m of varying conditions.
check color of oil during draining - if still black then repeat lambda treatment again but if not muddy then new oil and filter.
Change oil every 5TM uisng Addinol.

Many thanks in advance.

The Phaeton-W12 isn't a real W12, I would say it's a double V , ( V V , bound together by melting two VR6 with an angle/ winkle of 15°. 8o )
(Sorry for my bad English)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W_engine

Better described here:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_Phaeton

But, by the way,
why should the oil management -your VR6 3.2 recently received- not work at a "duplicated brother"?

But please wait, the real experts here will confirm ..... ore perhaps they will not.

Your plan sounds perfect!

Just two notes:
1. You should use Addinol already during the procedure.
2. I would recommend to drive around 1000-2000 miles on Addinol previous to the procedure.

Just a small update - I've since driver a further 4000 miles on new ASL which was more than ready for a change - it was very black at 4000 miles and I'm impressed with the cleaning additives! Many thanks yet again - my car is silky smooth.
